My Jenkins Server may have been banned by the lucene/solr dev mailing list.

    Details

      Description

A few of us run extra jenkins servers for lucene/solr and forward result emails to the list.

This was working fine for some time until while I was away for some time, Jenkins got tangled up in an unknown state. When I returned to address the problem, just waking up the monitor changed something and every email notice for a lot of fails that had built up over a few days were sent at once.

I got all these emails on my personal address. Luckily, the list appeared smart enough to block them.

I waited a while to re set up Jenkins and started it again last night. Initially, a few report emails got through, but now they all seem blocked.

So while I'm quite happy I was blocked, I'm looking for information or help on getting unblocked.

The email sender to the dev@lucene.apache.org list is noreply@fullmetaljenkins.org.

      Any help or pointers?

        +1

I'm a moderator of devl@lucene.apache.org, but I think this may be blocked at a lower level before it hits the mailing lists.
Any help getting emails flowing again from this sender would be great!

Look back, seems I was wrong about a couple getting through after the email bomb - just looked that way to me due to some gmail filtering.

<danielsh> Mails don't just devnull themselves. Do you get any bounce message?

Hmm...no bounce messages. They we TO both my gmail account and the dev list. I received all of those sent to my gmail account but they completely stopped arriving at the dev list. That's what had me assuming they are being blocked somehow, but I honestly don't know what is happening. I've since stopped trying to send them to the dev list.

<danielsh> Well, we can't investigate this if you stopped sending. Either close this ticket, or reproduce the issue so we can tail the mail log. (and use a resolving Return-Path please, so that bounces get to you --- if you aren't already doing that)

If you need me to send, I can easily start sending again.

Your right, I probably am getting a bounce and dont know it - it's not currently using a valid reply email if I remember right. I'll deal with that first.

        Thanks.
