Two problems observed while addressing HADOOP-9132:

      1. On /www/ is a symbolic link to /www/, and correspondingly and display the same content.

However, altho /www/ is also a symbolic link to /www/, the web page displays a page that is empty except for a text message (see attached screen shot, taken with Chrome browser). It is desirable that it show the same content as

There is some evidence that this effect may be intermittent or browser-dependent, as some people seem to have observed behaving correctly some of the time.

      2. The files /www/{readme.txt,KEYS} have been modified (readme.txt by me). This directory is under svn control as, but when I tried to commit the change, the commit was rejected with the message:

mattf@minotaur:/www/$ svn commit readme.txt -m "update readme.txt to point to instead of .../core/"
svn: E155004: Commit failed (details follow):
svn: E155004: Working copy '/x1/www/' locked
svn: E200031: attempt to write a readonly database
svn: E200031: attempt to write a readonly database
svn: run 'svn cleanup' to remove locks (type 'svn help cleanup' for details)

If it is intended to keep these files read-only, please update them. If it is intended for release managers to be able to commit changes, please inform how. Thanks.
