      Description

      Jira has a feature where users can subscribe to an issue search, receiving email about issues matching the filter on some schedule. hcatalog-dev@incubator.apache.org would like to receive daily emails for the following query:

      {code}
      project = HCATALOG AND status = "Patch Available"
      {code}

      As an individual user, I created this saved search, and have it sent to my personal email address. However, I do not have permissions to send this report to others.

      Reading https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Receiving+Search+Results+via+Email I learned the "Manage Group Filter Subscriptions" global permission is required to send others email.

      Can someone with the appropriate Jira permissions setup a daily email for the above query, or grant someone in the HCatalog project permissions to set this up?

        You should now have perms to share filters

        Hey [~ipv6guru], thanks for taking a look at this issue. I'm going from only reading the docs, so apologies if I misunderstand something.

        Attached is a screenshot of what I now see when editing a filter. Based on your change, I can now share this filter, which I've done for all users.

        From reading https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Managing+Global+Permissions I believe my account was granted the "Create Shared Objects" permission. However, this does not let me create subscriptions for others. I believe this requires the "Manage Group Filter Subscriptions" permission, which allows a user to create subscriptions for others.

        Does what we're trying to achieve make sense? Basically we want a daily message to the dev list of patches that are ready to review. I'm totally open to any method of making that happen.
