      Description

The Tapestry project is willing to migrate over to GIT for source management.

The current location is https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/tapestry/tapestry5/ which contains a standard subversion layout with trunk/tags/branches directories.

The other files in the repo will be managed by the team soon after the migration.

The ID willing to assist in the migration is mine: mlusetti

For the record, the thread where Tapestry committers decided to go for git: http://markmail.org/thread/tcx5ay5t5qz3yxm5. Also another one on practical matter related to the move: http://markmail.org/thread/xztmjk34gb6bfz6c.

See https://git-wip-eu.apache.org/repos/asf/tapestry-5.git I've tenporarily frozen the tapestry
svn repo just to avoid errant commits. Once you've fully migrated to the new repo let me know
and I'll reenable svn write access.

        Thanks Joe.

BTW When I try to access it I receive:

        ➜ git-wip git clone https://git-wip-eu.apache.org/repos/asf/tapestry-5.git
        Cloning into 'tapestry-5'...
error: Couldn't resolve host 'git-wip-eu.apache.org' while accessing https://git-wip-eu.apache.org/repos/asf/tapestry-5.git/info/refs
        fatal: HTTP request failed

        Is the url correct?
        Or is this one: https://git-wip-us.apache.org/repos/asf?p=tapestry-5.git

        Cheers

Joes does we still need to provide a destination for commit mails as well as commit mail subject line pattern?

BTW we could go with the defaults currently settled otherwise let me know and I'll provide to you.

The tag for the 5.3.3 release is missing from the repo.

        How should this be handled?

As per discussion we will retag the lost release 5.3.3

BTW the migration seems complete so couldn't we just leave the svn repo in a read-only state?

You will need the svn repo to migrate your site to either svnpubsub or the cms.
        Otherwise it can remain read-only.

Our site is in Confluence right now so I think we don't need svn for that, so I guess it could remain read-only.

The clock is ticking on how long you have until your site stops working. Please
see http://www.apache.org/dev/cmsadoption#confluence - it really doesn't get much
        easier.
