http://incubator.apache.org/cordova ready

    Details

      Description

Static website assets can be found here: https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/incubator/cordova/site/ and the static site reside under /public folder.

Now we just need to have http://incubator.apache.org/cordova/ pointing to that folder.

This is not using svnpubsub --- the static files get generated and put into a folder called 'public' in the root

Apologies, new here, I did not know svnpubsub existed until 15 mins ago. We are working under the, quite possibly horribly incorrect, assumption that this is a redirect or perhaps a symlink. I'll tell you what we're gunning for.

        http://incubator.apache.org/cordova/

        points to

        https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/incubator/cordova/site/public

does that make sense at all?

It's svnpubsub that's needed here. Cordova has set up their own site build described in [1] and want to just publish the generated static site.

I did a bad job explaining the difference between svnpubsub and the full CMS, which led to this confusion. Unfortunately I couldn't find a good www.apache.org/dev resource describing the svnpubsub option.

<danielsh> incubator and asf(www.a.o/dev) docs say that the site feeds of either (a) directory on people.a.o:/www or (b) an svn location (via svnpubsub). which do you want?

<danielsh> agreed: there doesn't seem to be documentation of svnpubsub or svnwcsub-based sites on www.a.o/dev/. I could write this myself, but if we have volunteers in the audience please feel free to JFDI and beat me to it .

sorry I still don't totally follow but I think we want to feed the site from svn location: https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/incubator/cordova/site/public

I updated http://www.apache.org/dev/project-site.html to better match current practice, including a brief intro on how svnpubsub works for site deployment.

Brian, that's basically what the svnpubsub-based mechanism does. The live project sites are served by separate web servers based on static content from a specified folder in svn. Instead of directly accessing the svn server (which is troublesome for various reasons), the web servers use local checkouts that are automatically kept up to date using a publish-subscribe mechanism based on svnpubsub.

In this case we want the live web servers to serve the content from .../incubator/cordova/site/public at http://incubator.apache.org/cordova/.

<danielsh> Done. Note to infra: this used the new script. aurora may not have picked up the 'svn up's due to svn.eu being behind at the time.

I think some bit is missing as http://incubator.apache.org/cordova/ is still giving me a 404.
