Note that the standard convention is for commit emails to go to commits@$tlp.apache.org.

commits@ is fine - ASF conventions by the book are all we're looking for with Lucene - nothing special. I just noticed that the Incubator sends to cvs@ even though its on Subversion (unless I misread it).

The lucene.apache.org DNS has been created and enabled, though it may take a while for DNS to propagate. Currently there is no content in /www/lucene.apache.org except for the empty mail directory. All members of the PMC with logins on www.apache.org have group write access (unix group lucene).

Do you want the existing lists from jakarta moved to the new hostname, or entirely new lists? What about the old mail archives?

I have created mailing lists for

           pmc at lucene.apache.org
commits at lucene.apache.org (with alias for cvs@)

and subscribed ehatcher. Please have the others subscribe
via the usual procedure since I have no idea what their preferred addresses will be.

Roy - thanks for your efforts! I have checked out the Lucene website to the new directory and all is well. I have also set up a redirect from Jakarta to the TLP address.

        > Do you want the existing lists from jakarta moved to the new hostname, or entirely new lists? What about the old mail archives?

Yes, it would be ideal to migrate the lists from Jakarta to TLP. So lucene-user@jakarta would become user@lucene.apache.org and lucene-dev@jakarta -> dev@lucene.apache.org. As for archives - what is needed to migrate them? It would also be ideal to have the archives carry over to the new lists.

Also, what is needed to wire commits@lucene to SVN commit e-mails?

UPDATE: It has been decided that the current Jakarta lists for Lucene should migrate to java-*@lucene.apache.org. lucene-user@jakarta.apache.org -> java-user@lucene.apache.org and lucene-dev@jakarta.apache.org -> java-dev@lucene.apache.org.

List subscriptions and archives would be great to migrate if possible.

        Thanks!!!!

Note that while commits@lucene.apache.org appears to be working, it doesn't seem to be getting archived in either eyebrowse or the mod_mbox archives at http://mail-archives.eu.apache.org/mod_mbox/.
