Consider using quickstack instead of pstack

    Description

      This is an alternative to heavyweight methods like pstack and gdb that can block the process while they're collecting stacks: https://github.com/yoshinorim/quickstack . Yoshinori has a lot of experience troubleshooting production systems so his recommendation carries some weight for me.

      I tried it out and it seems to work as advertised so far. The binary is pretty small and easy to build so isn't an unreasonable dependency.
