It would be useful if the ALTER TABLE ADD PARTITION statement returned the number of partitions created to the user.

Note that when "IF NOT EXISTS" is specified, the number of partitions in the ALTER TABLE ADD PARTITION statement might be greater than the number of partitions actually created. Only those partitions will be created that were absent from both the catalog cache and the HMS.
