Description

This came about during the course of designing a way to skip Impala LZO-dependent tests in the case that Impala was not build with LZO-support. We didn't have a way to query for this, and wound up experimenting with relying on environment variables and/or the existence of the libimpalalzo.so file.

A simple way to query Impala itself would have been much simpler and more reliable.
