Description

Our Thrift ClientCache's can grow to unbounded size without evicting entries. We should bound the size to a reasonable level and potentially just evict connections after they reach a certain age.

We've increased thrift buffer sizes in recent releases, so it's becoming more important to free up memory from unused connections. See IMPALA-3599.
