Description

The mysql driver name has changed in connector/J versions newer than 8. "org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver" which is expected by the hop database plugin, is not available in current versions of connector/j

As a workaround it is still possible to use older JDBC drivers ( version 5.x ) in combination with the "generic database" option.
