add an option in ptest to run on a single machine

      There is no need for any sudo in that case

        +1 This looks good to me as well.

        I'll try running the script locally, and if it works, I'll commit.

        On a side note, I noticed TestSerDe is never run (this was true before this patch) is there a reason for this?

        This issue is fixed and released as part of 0.10.0 release. If you find an issue which seems to be related to this one, please create a new jira and link this one with new jira.
