Description

Tracking bug for GRPC support in Hive Metastore.

 

The gRPC proto definition has been submitted in HIVE-26484.

 

From here we should, in the simplest case, add mappers that map from the gRPC object to the Thrift object due to the fact that the Thrift object is used all the way down the stack, then call into required places just like Thrift does.

 

In the longer term, we should work to replace the Thrift object down the stack with a common object between grpc/thrift for supportability of both.
