    Description

      Re-purposing as catch-all ticket for assertion failures when running tests with java asserts enabled. Running with the attached patch on trunk@823732 the following tests all trigger assertion failures:

      TestAccessTokenWithDFS
      TestInterDatanodeProtocol
      TestBackupNode
      TestBlockUnderConstruction
      TestCheckpoint
      TestNameEditsConfigs
      TestStartup
      TestStorageRestore
