Description

HDFS-503 introduces erasure coding for HDFS files. It currently uses "xor" algoritm as the Erasure coding algorithm. It would be nice if that Erasure Coding framework supports a pluggable API to allow plugging in other Erasure Coding policies. A few of these policies are mentioned by Hong at https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HDFS-503?focusedCommentId=12735011&page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels%3Acomment-tabpanel#action_12735011
