          Description

          Sometimes we need way to perform compactions outside of the regionserver, example before turning on the cluster. The task is to expose a way to compact files from the CLI without requiring a running RS.

            FYI Adela Maznikar, we have a CompactionTool in trunk. It might serve for inspiration.

            0.89-fb is no longer being actively maintained. If issues persist open an issue against the current master or stable versions.
