Description

The Hadoop releases page (http://hadoop.apache.org/releases.html) indicates that 1.0.* is the stable release and 1.1.* is beta. However, when you click through to download, the stable symlink points to 1.1.1. There is no 1.0.* release available.

Additionally, there is a link to say that older versions are available from the archive but http://archive.apache.org/dist/hadoop/core/ shows an empty directory.
