      See:
      ./hadoop-common-project/hadoop-common/src/main/bin/hadoop-daemon.sh:chown $HADOOP_IDENT_STRING $HADOOP_LOG_DIR

      In some setups, hadoop daemon may have the rights to write in its log dir but not to chown/chmod it.
