Migrate Standalone Refresh Protocols to the GenericRefreshProto

    Description

      Now that we have a GenericRefreshProtocol, we should migrate existing protocols towards it.

      First, we will duplicate the functionality.

      If all goes well we can mark the old methods as deprecated, and remove them later.
