Description

Running the attached program with Groovy 2.1.1 shows a drop in performance by over 60% compared to running it with Groovy 2.0.5. The test program is the Java code from Robert Hundt's Benchmark (https://days2011.scala-lang.org/sites/days2011/files/ws3-1-Hundt.pdf) ported to Groovy.
