        Hi Ralph,
I agree that better procedure would be to let developers to add themselves. The reason why I've picked up this task is that I've noticed that the contributor/developer list in the pom file is very outdated and I wanted to clean that up before 1.2.0 release.

It is customary in Apache projects to have the committer add themself to the project. However, creating a Jira isssue and Review per issue seems heavyweight.

Most of the entries in the developer list include an email address as the id. This really should be just the ASF userid.

        My entry should contain

        <email>rgoers@apache.org</email>
        <name>Ralph Goers</name>
        <id>rgoers</id>
        <organization>Intuit</organization>
