Add authorization support to web console

    Description

      We should add some sort of authorization support to the web console, to further restrict the possibilities. The main idea is to support the reading and the "writing" use cases, so some user should only get read (informational) access, while others have the ability to change things.
      Started a thread in the mailing list to discuss the details further
