Description
Interior routers employ an anti-looping mechanism that prevents deliveries from passing through the same router twice on its way from origin to destination. This mechanism does not prevent echo-back on interior-to-edge connections. A new solution is needed for this.
On an edge router, a delivery that enters via the uplinked interior router must not be re-forwarded back to the interior.
On an interior router, a delivery that arrives from an edge router must not be re-forwarded back to that same edge router.
