Browsing base DN returns [LDAP: error code 10 - Referral]

    Details

    • Type: Bug Bug
    • Status: Closed
    • Priority: Major Major
    • Resolution: Fixed
    • Affects Version/s: 1.0.1
    • Fix Version/s: 1.1.0
    • Component/s: studio-ldapbrowser
    • Labels:
      None
    • Environment:
      Sun Java 1.6.0_03 on Debian 4.0 - Linux 2.6.18 i386, GNOME 2.14.3. LDAP server is OpenLDAP 2.3.30

      Description

When using the LDAP browser view I get an error while reading the base DN entry: [LDAP: error code 10 - Referral]. I turned on referral handling in the connection to no effect. Now the odd thing is the server has a second base DN that is a referral entry, which might be the source of the problem. If I search under that base DN I can view results fine, and go back up the tree fine until I reach the base DN.

There are some problems with referrals, see DIRSTUDIO-184 and DIRSTUDIO-197.

Could you please post your RootDSE? (Select RootDSE->right click->Advanced->Copy Entry as LDIF (include operational attributes))
