      Description

      Current NIO implementation doesn't outperform non-NIO sockets, and doesn't support multicasting. We could complement this gap by adding transport type support for non-NIO sockets.

        is there any sense on supporting blocking IO ? i basically think this is non sense

        with NIO2 comming with multicast support and APR who is able to do it, does supporting blocking IO make sense ? Perhaps for low latency ?
