    • Priority: Major Major
    • Resolution: Duplicate
    • Affects Version/s: 10.5.1.1
    • Fix Version/s: None
    • Component/s: Test
    • Environment:
      AIX 3.5, IBM 1.5 SR 9
    • Urgency:
      Normal
    • Bug behavior facts:
      Regression Test Failure

      Description

When running suites. All with ibm 1.5 on AIX I've twice (both with 10.5.1.0 (RC1) and 10.5.1.1 RC2) seen a stack trace with a java.net.socketException: Connection reset.
I believe this left a socket on the machine in a bad state and caused hangs when running suites. All with either ibm15, or ibm16 jvms until I booted the machine.

There is no test failure corresponding to this.

      This is the stack trace:

I think maybe this can be seen as a duplicate of DERBY-4319, but I still think there's a difference because the socket reset happens on other systems too, and it does not always cause a hang as described in DERBY-4319.

This still occurs. It's almost as if I see this message on my AIX machine alternating with the hang from DERBY-4319.

I did not see this with 10.8.1.2, I'm assuming it was indeed a duplicate of DERBY-4319 which was a duplicate of DERBY-5192.
I can reopen if I see this again.
