Description

Preconditions:

1. Notebook is running
2. Git credentials are set up
3. Project is cloned to Notebook via ungit

Steps to reproduce:

1. Add a new file to the cloned project in Notebook web UI
2. Via ungit link got to the project
3. Hit 'Commit' button

Actual result:

1. Commit is not successful
2. The error appear:

TypeError: a bytes-like object is required, not 'str'

Expected result:

1. Commit is successful
