Description
The wiki contains a few pages such as:
http://wiki.apache.org/couchdb/Installing_on_Ubuntu
The INSTALL.Unix file has been updated to just point to this page. Unfortunately, some of the instructions on the wiki are out of date, or not recommended. The important bits of community documentation should be distilled into the INSTALL and README files proper. It might be beneficial to designate a special wiki page for each main section of these files, and point to them for up-to-date community contributions. As long as they are occasionally merged back in to the official documentation.
