Description

The maven command:

mvn versions:set -DnewVersion=XXX

... has proven unreliable. There is also quite a bit of stuff that needs to be done when creating a release branch that could reasonably be automated. This includes:

• Tying off CHANGES.txt in both trunk and the new release branch
• Actually creating the release branch
• Updating the mvn poms (NOT using mvn versions:set)
• Updating the build.xml files
