Hi Guys, 

I'm facing a problem when using commons compress to extract an tar.gz file, which contains sparse file. I spent the whole afternoon on it but no luck.

 

The limitations page (https://commons.apache.org/proper/commons-compress/limitations.html) says sparse files are not supported.

I found the issue created by Stepan (https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/COMPRESS-124) in 2013, says sparse files could only be skipped. 

 

Is there a plan to support extracting sparse file in this project?
