I don't like the semweb colors that much, so I would vote for "A"

Sorry that I see that only now, but according to http://www.apache.org/foundation/marks/pmcs.html requires it's good for the logo to include a small TM symbol ("trade mark"), so this should be added at some point.

I'll remind our Swiss friends that the Semweb was invented by a British Subject. I fact what those three arcs represent are the waves of the sea that the british know so well to navigate. To put it in California terms, these are the perfect Semweb waves that we have been waiting for to surf.

Marco's comment from the mailing list:

Actually, the three 'arches' in the logo symbolizes the
Swiss mountains. As 'Clerezza' means 'Clarity' in a local
language (Rumantsch) this is a very reduced link to that.

Why 'Clerezza'? Because using Semantic Web technologies help
us to bring clarity to the massive amount of unstructured and
fast growing web data. It's like in old times when British
people came to Switzerland in order to breathe fresh and clear
air while usually living in a cloud of fog at home.

I also like the idea of 3 bridges - so this logo could be interpreted in many ways

        very nice.
I think B is better there. It looks more alive.

I am not yet sure about the symbolism behind it. The thing it brings to mind are, in decreasing order

        • 3 bridges
        • 3 rainbows
        • 3 boomerangs
        • the hair on the oval shaped heads of 3 people
        • the three arcs are positioned like the three crosses on Golgotha, but it's hopeful because of the above relations

So the concept of three is a link to the semweb. Clerezza is a bridge. And people are involved with the social web. And it's the world at the end of the rainbow.

So it does seem to fit.

+1 I like them, with a preference for A (as the B has semweb classic colors so may not look so "special")
