This error is occurring in CDVViewController.m in viewDidLoad. I didn't look at the source changes for this release, but the error wasn't occurring for me in Cordova 2.1.0, so I believe it's new with 2.2.0.
Changing backupWebStorage to backupWebStorageType in the 'if' statement resolves the error. (Line 219)
if (IsAtLeastiOSVersion(@"5.1") && (([backupWebStorageType isEqualToString:@"local"]) ||
([backupWebStorageType isEqualToString:@"cloud"] && !IsAtLeastiOSVersion(@"6.0"))))
