In Cayenne Modeler, 'Code Generation' dialog:

Current situation: The setting 'Superclass Package' is set to a default value (<package>.auto). If the package for generated superclasses deviates from the standard, that path has to be set / corrected with each generation. This procedure is error-prone  and tedious.

Improvement suggestion: The package for superclasses shall be persisted / applied in the same way as the package for subclasses.
