The following commits are included in the newer slf4j-api and that currently look very useful for us:

• SLF4J-469 Potential memory leaks if there is no underlying implementation
• SLF4j-466 Add test for all happy flow cases
• SLF4J-460 EventRecodingLogger debug logs as TRACE
