MV performance regression

      Description

      I've noticed an important MV performance regression that has been introduced in 3.0.0-rc1. The issue has been introduced by CASSANDRA-9664.

      • I'm using mvbench to test with RF=3
      • I confirm it's not a driver issue.
      EC2 RF=3 (i2.2xlarge, also tried on i2.4xlarge)
