Seems like CentOS/RHEL 6 should also be on that list. In the last release we supported Ubuntu 10.04 and the last 2 Fedora releases, also (as opposed to just the newest: 18). Are those intentional omissions?

Good catch with CentOS/RHEL 6! Thanks – fixed now. As for non-LTS platforms (Fedora, non-LTS Ubuntus) I'd rather only support the latest one. Of course if somebody wants to help with supporting them – that'd be pretty awesome!

Roman Shaposhnik, Pig 0.11 will be released very soon. How about we target release it other than 0.10.1 ?

Johnny, I'd love to target Pig 11. What's the likely schedule for its release?

I got some feedback on Pig 0.11 – I think it is safe to include it! Included and sent for a vote.

A tiny change in the version of Crunch now that they've got to 0.5.0. Please let me know if you disagree.

openSUSE 12.3 is not yet out, but its due in less than a month. I'd be specific with SLES SP2. SP1 is out of support. Let me know if you have issues with getting SP2 on the build machine.

Peter Linnell, any chance you can help us with getting the VM available on EC2? That'll be hugely appreciated!

I was thinking that perhaps SuSE can make AMI available on EC2. Any chance of that happening?

Attached is a patch for bumping the version of HBase, Flume, Crunch and Tomcat. These are trivial changes to the bigtop.mk and don't require any changes to packaging. The rest of the version updates will be handled in dedicated JIRAs.

Ive created a good 12.3 image and uploaded to AWS, but it kernel panics on boot. More investigation needed.

Thanks for the update! Would be really awesome if we could resolve this in the next week or so. Do you think OpenSuSE folks can help?

Not sure its an openSUSE issue, as much as something not configured on the AWS side. Planning on looking at this over the weekend.

Peter Linnell any progress on OpenSuSE 12.3? I've just hooked up the latest Fedora to our Jenkins. I guess if we can't resolve the OpenSuSE 12.3 situation by the end of the week we'd have to remove it from the BOM

Peter, do you think you could help? If not, do you think you can hook us up with somebody from the OpenSUSE community who could?
