we need a way to provide supervision for long running daemon applications

      Description

      There's an immediate need for Zookeeper and Flume, but in general it would be nice to have that layer of functionality in Bigtop available for all the daemons to use.

          I was thinking more along the lines of daemontools, but I'm totally open to suggestions.

          I'm cool with daemontools. DJB is a pretty meticulous coder and this is not likely to be a large support issue for us.
