The Pig do-component-build script specifies "
Ddist.dir=debian/tmp", which is where the contents of the Pig distribution tarball are copied to and tar'd up from. Ideally we'd be using the contents of that directory as the contents for the package itself (see (version)), while the Debian build will still have it be in debian/tmp. BIGTOP-114), but the "debian/tmp" aspect of things creates confusion. We should probably remove the -Ddist.dir entirely from do-component-build, and then add "-Ddist.dir=debian/tmp" to the call to do-component-build in the Debian rules.
