Description

The README is due again for some updates and fixes.

• It appears that the maven commands can be improved and also,

• Also I suggest changing it from "README" to "README.md" to add some good markdown will be nice, and more readable.

• Some descriptions of the high level folder / structure of the project and an appeal to contributors on how/where they can lend a hand in the different subcomponents of bigtop.

I will attach a patch shortly ... should be much prettier and easier to follow.
