Description
IntelliJ IDE integration is a frequent source of contributor frustration (see dev@ threads here and here.
Since we migrated the build to Gradle, the IDE integration seems overall more difficult to get working properly. The first step is to document a single supported IDE configuration, and then make necessary changes to make it work more reliably with our build system.
