Description
For external SVG Fonts, implemented in batik, there are two equivalent ways to
refer to them. One way, the xml font-face element and its children, is
implemented in batik 1.5 already. The other, equivalent way using the CSS
@font-face is not implemented in batik 1.5. The xml way is in fact a direct
translation into xml of the CSS @font-face.
CSS is optional, but Batik already has a very good CSS implementation. This
one part is missing.
It would be great if someone could find a little time to implement this small
missing part:
- it would make Batik more conformant
- it would help the SVG 1.1 CR exit criteria
- it would help the CSS 2.1 exit criteria, and encourage the CSS WG to
consider SVG implementations as wellas HTML implementations as being important.
