        Now reading and writing requests using the io.DatumReader.read() and io.DatumWriter.write() logic, which already handles schema resolution.

        May revisit implementation strategy later (e.g. perhaps we need a RequestSchema class in schema.py rather than reusing RecordSchema), but this patch delivers the desired functionality and each approach has its pros and cons.
