Atlas lineage UI can be improved by differentiating between lineage and impact, as given below:
- Lineage: path through all entities leading up to current entity (upstream paths)
- Impact: path through all entities leading out of current entity (downstream paths)
The current way in which it is munged and shown together is can be confusing and is not industry standard terminology.
Specific items to fix:
1) Relabel title of the widget to say Lineage and Impact
2) Color all path edges leading into the current entity with one color
3) Color all path edges leading out of current entity with a different color
4) Add a legend to show the colors and what they mean in the lineage view
