With the current version of the Maven archetype plugin, it is not possible to add a custom Selector/Configurer/Queryer implementation.
If I understand plexus correctly, adding a role-hint 'default' to the default implementations would allow you to add an implementation with another role-hint in your own pom.xml files as an extension to the maven-archetype-plugin plugin.
This patch configures the role-hint attribute so it's generated in the components.xml file
