HDP 2.6.4 (Ambari 2.6.1.3) running on a 5-node cluster with up to date (2018-03-02) Centos 7.
Description
After successfully upgrading from HDP 2.6.0.3 to HDP 2.6.4, the Ambari Web UI (http://<server>:8080/#/main/admin/stack/services) shows old service versions after upgrade (see attachment).
GET http://<server>:8080/api/v1/stacks/HDP/versions/2.6/compatible_repository_versions?fields=*,repo_id,repo_name,stack_version
Shows two compatible repos after the upgrade, and I'm suspecting that Ambari Web UI is showing old information due to a display bug. Since I'm not sure about the storage solution wherein ambari-server is searching for this information I did not want to mess up with any configurations. I inspected the ambari server database and [repo_version table], several xml files in /var/lib/ambari-server/resources, and the ambari github project, but did not arrive to any conclusion on the cause of this issue.
I did manually delete the repos for the old version using the Ambari Web UI (http://<server>:8080/views/ADMIN_VIEW/2.6.1.3/INSTANCE/#/stackVersions/HDP/2.6.0.3-8/edit) and when I tried to install Druid 0.10.1 (the one in the new stack version) it did in fact install the new Druid version. However, I did not try to install any service before manually deleting the old repos using the Ambari Web UI, and therefore I do not know if without this change Ambari would install the old version.
I hope I can help with this information, and hopefully you can help me also.
Best regards,
Carlos
