Description Harrie 2003-02-03 17:42:57 UTC
I have creatred a pdf file with fop-0.20.4 and when i print the file on two
different computers with different printers the layout (font size, spacing
e.d.) is not the same. Very shit because i am printing with an accept giro
(Holland) card on the paper so all figures should be on exact places on the
paper.

CAN ANYONE HELP ME PLEASE !!!!!!

So this question is about printig pdf? Sorry, but FOP actually has nothing to do
with it. Try to embed font or ask Acrobat Reader customer service.

Oké..i have send an e-mail to Acrobat, but..

I also embedded a font and also that font is different on different printers.
So that do not help also.

Can I put info (and which if so) in the fo document about the printer it will
be printd on, or things that will make the font, font size, etc more specific
so that it will be printed everywhere the same ?

Again, once you've got a PDF, and it looks good on screen on different machines,
there is not much FOP can do about how it looks in print.
Check the usual suspects:
1. Paper size mismatch
2. Acrobat settings (http://xml.apache.org/fop/faq.html#faq-N10486)
3. Printer driver settings
4. Printer driver versions (check with vendor for bugs)
5. Printer specific font mappings.
You can reopen the bug if you've got a PDF using the problematc fonts but
printing identical on the printers in question.
The FO source (self contained) and details about the Acrobat Reader version
and settings you are using as well as detail regarding the printers, printer
drivers and settings would probably help a bit too.

Regarding printer info embedded in FO: no, you can't.
Please ask questions on the fop-user list rather then here.
