Since I setup SDBM as a bayes store I get this error message when I run sa-update:

# /usr/local/bin/sa-update                                                 
Can't locate object method "finish" via package "Mail::SpamAssassin::BayesStore::SDBM" at /usr/local/libdata/perl5/site_perl/Mail/SpamAssassin/PluginHandler.pm line 238.

This implies that that module is loaded even though it isn't required for sa-update and that sa-update is expecting "finish" which should be there but isn't.

Or maybe I am missing something.

Please include your configuration, especially any loadplugin lines and you Bayes Storage config.

As I mentioned in IRC, I suspect you've tried to improperly load that module as a plugin which it is not.
