I was just trying to see if anything differed in the various branches maintained for the different hbase versions Phoenix supports. In particular, these: https://dist.apache.org/repos/dist/dev/phoenix/apache-phoenix-4.8.0-HBase-1.2-rc2/src/
https://dist.apache.org/repos/dist/dev/phoenix/apache-phoenix-4.8.0-HBase-1.1-rc2/src/
https://dist.apache.org/repos/dist/dev/phoenix/apache-phoenix-4.8.0-HBase-1.0-rc2/src/
https://dist.apache.org/repos/dist/dev/phoenix/apache-phoenix-4.8.0-HBase-0.98-rc2/src/
I see that there are differences in various files. For example, RuleGeneratorTest.java has major differences between the code for the 1.0 and 1.1 versions. I saw some more but it's easy to get the differences by doing a "diff -r" on the source directories (after untarring the tar balls).
