Description

I'd like some mechanism to report numeric progress in maps that have side effects. In the common case, there is exactly one key/value for each map and they do a lot of work (minutes to hours) while working on that key. It would be nice if mapred.Reporter had a progress(float) method that set the progress within the current key.
