I cannot login. The system seems to ignore all users I tried. I do not get any error message, that the login was denied, but only the page is refreshed. I could not get from the documentation which users are predefined.

After installation of Tomcat 4.1 login is working. I now also figured out, what are the standard logins. So it must have something to do with this JAAS patch. I was using 5.0.28 of Tomcat. The patch was not installed by the quickStart option of maven.

Is there a work-around or do I need to install 5.0.24?

Check out the Getting Started instructions: http://portals.apache.org/jetspeed-2/getting-started.html

If the patch isn't installed you probably didn't configure org.apache.jetspeed.catalina.version.major=5 in your build.properties.

After correcting this, do a full rebuild before deployment with:
  >maven allClean allBuild

Please report back if it is working so I can close this bug.
